Fat-dissolving injections in India: Aqualyx, Lemon Bottle, Kabelline and lipolytic solutions

Aqualyx, Lemon Bottle, NC24 and other lipolytic solutions compared for Indian clinics: makers, key ingredients, positioning and safe buying.

Injectable fat-reduction products, usually called lipolytics or "fat dissolvers", have become a regular feature of body-contouring menus in Indian clinics. The category is crowded, the names are confusing, and the ingredient lists vary far more than most buyers realise. This guide sorts the main products into groups, explains what sets them apart, and covers what clinics should check before buying.

This guide is about purchasing. Patient selection, treatment areas, protocols and technique are clinical decisions for a qualified, trained doctor. Nothing here should be read as a claim that any product will produce a particular result.

Two broad families

Most lipolytic products fall into one of two groups, based on their key ingredient.

1. Deoxycholate-based products

Sodium deoxycholate (and deoxycholic acid) is a bile-acid derivative that acts on the membranes of fat cells. It is the active ingredient in several of the best-known products in the category.

2. "Cocktail" or multi-ingredient solutions

These combine several ingredients such as lecithin, bromelain (a pineapple-derived enzyme), riboflavin (vitamin B2), L-carnitine, peptides and plant extracts. They are often marketed for both face and body, and many come from South Korea.

Aqualyx

Aqualyx is made by Marllor, an Italian company, and was launched in the UK in 2013. It is a deoxycholate-based aqueous gel. It has one of the longest track records among European lipolytic products and is a familiar name to many Indian practitioners.

Positioning: premium within the category, with strong brand recognition among doctors.

Lemon Bottle

Lemon Bottle is a South Korean product. Its formulation is built around riboflavin (vitamin B2), lecithin and bromelain, which places it in the multi-ingredient group rather than the deoxycholate group. The bright yellow solution and distinctive packaging have made it one of the most searched-for names in the category on social media.

Positioning: mid-range, with very high patient awareness.

Kabelline

Kabelline is another Korean product that buyers in India frequently ask about. Its listed ingredients typically include deoxycholic acid and L-carnitine. Kabelline is not currently part of the Esthelix listed range; if you are looking for it, message our team on WhatsApp and we will tell you what is available.

How clinics typically choose

Match the product to your practice

Clinics with experienced doctors and established body-contouring programmes often stock Aqualyx. Practices whose patients come in asking for products they have seen online may also stock Lemon Bottle. Many keep one product from each family.

Read the composition, not the marketing

Product names in this category often promise more than any label can deliver. Read the ingredient list, and have your doctor review it, before adding a new product to your menu.

Plan around course-based treatments

Lipolytic treatments are typically offered as a course. Estimate your monthly patient numbers before choosing a price tier, so you are neither short of stock mid-course nor left with expiring boxes.

Questions to ask before adding a lipolytic

Before a new fat-dissolving product goes on your menu, it helps to have clear answers to a few questions:

  • Who makes it? Is the manufacturer named on the pack, and can you find independent information about them?
  • What exactly is in it? Is the full ingredient list printed, and has your doctor reviewed it?
  • What does the pack contain? Number of vials, volume per vial, and any accessories.
  • How should it be stored? Follow the instructions printed on the pack, and check that your clinic can meet them.
  • What is the expiry? Make sure it comfortably covers a full course for the patients you plan to treat.
  • Can the supplier show you the batch? Photos of the actual stock before payment are a reasonable request.

If a product cannot answer these basic questions, it is usually better left off the menu.

Counterfeits are common in this category

Fat-dissolving products are among the most heavily copied aesthetic products in the world, and India is no exception. Warning signs include:

  • Prices far below every other supplier
  • Missing batch numbers or expiry dates
  • Packaging with spelling mistakes, blurry printing or unusual fonts
  • Vials that do not match the box (different batch, different print)
  • Sellers who will not share batch photos before payment

At Esthelix, packs are sealed and original with batch and expiry visible, and we share batch photos on request before you pay.

Keeping records

For every lipolytic pack you receive, note the product name, batch number, expiry and date received. Good records make reordering simpler and give you the details you need if you ever have a question about a specific batch.

Who can buy

Lipolytic injectables are supplied only to licensed practitioners and registered businesses. They are not sold for self-use.
